Dr. Suwaiba Shehu Ibrahim, Mni, the new Executive Chairman, Kaduna State Senior Secondary Schools Education Board, is a multifaceted professional with a strong background in education, entrepreneurship, and politics. With an impressive academic journey,

Before her appointment as Executive Chairman, Dr. Suwaiba Shehu Ibrahim was the Permanent Secretary, Kaduna State Teachers Service Board. A long standing academic, she was a Lecturer in the Department of Business Administration, Kaduna State University (KASU) from 2020 to 2023. She also served as Assistant Registrar in the School of Postgraduate Studies, Kaduna State University.

A Member of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Suwaiba Shehu Ibrahim holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Administration, a Master of Science (MSc) in Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Business Administration.

HON. NITA BYACK GEORGE
Hon. Nita Byack George, the Permanent Member, Kaduna State Senior Secondary Schools Education Board is a Chartered Administrator, Development Specialist, Policy Strategist, Politician, Filmmaker/Multimedia Producer with extensive experience in Local Government Administration, National, Regional, & International Civil Society Engagement in Peace & Development, and Social Inclusion. She has skills and competences in Humanitarian Support, Health Financing, Conflict Prevention/Peace Building, Strategic Partnership, Research, Resilience Building, Advocacy, and Behaviour Change Communication.

A former Sole Administrator of Jaba Local Government, Kaduna State ( 2021 – 2024), she also served as Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture and Forestry, and Health, Jaba Local Government. She was the President, Initiative for Women and Child Development (2010 – 2021), Chairperson, Nigerian Youth Champions for Universal Health ( 2018 – 2020), and Secretary, Actors Guild of Nigeria (2013– 2017).

Hon. Nita Byack George holds an Honorary Doctorate in Public Sector Administration, a Master of Arts in Society and Development, Bachelor of Science (Sociology), Diploma in Law, and Certificate in Leadership, Strategy and Development. She has received numerous awards, including the Award of Excellence from the African Centre for Leadership Strategy and Development, and the COWAP Award for Girl Child Education.

HON. MONDAY TELA BAKO
Hon. Monday Tela Bako, the Permanent Member, Kaduna State Senior Secondary Schools Education Board, served meritoriously in the Civil Service of Kaduna State and the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) before retiring in 2023. He was the Director of Investigations/Head of Administration, Public Complaints Commission, Kaduna Office from 2019 to 2023, Deputy Director, Investigations, Public Complaints Commission (2015 – 2018), and Assistant Director, Planning, Budget and ICT, Public Complaints Commission (2012 – 2014).

In the Kaduna State Civil Service, Hon. Monday Tela Bako served as Principal Assistant Education Officer (1998 – 2001). He holds a Masters of Public Policy and Administration, a Postgraduate Diploma in International Relations & Diplomacy, a Bachelor of Education (Administration and Planning), and Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE). The consummate administrator is a member of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, and Chartered Institute of Mediators and Conciliators.

HON. ALIYU HARUNA AHMED
Hon. Aliyu Haruna Ahmed, the Permanent Member, Kaduna State Senior Secondary Schools Education Board is a community health specialist and grassroots mobilizer. He obtained his professional qualifications as Community Health Officer (CHO) from Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto (2000), and Community Health Assistant (CHA) from School of Health Technology, Daura (1986).

Hon. Aliyu Haruna Ahmed served as Sectional Head, Primary Healthcare Department, Kudan Local Government, Hunkuyi, Kaduna State (2005 – 2010), Pilgrims Officer, Kudan Local Government (2003 – 2010), Chairman, Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, Kudan Local Government (2003 – 2010), Kudan District Health Supervisor, Kudan Local Government (1996 – 2002), and President, Community Health Officers Training Programme, Usman Danfodio University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto (2000).

HON. ALIYU IBRAHIM
Hon. Aliyu Ibrahim, the Permanent Member, Kaduna State Senior Secondary Schools Education Board is a finance expert and administrator. He served as Director, Finance and Supplies, Kaduna State Agricultural Development Project (KADP) from 2001 to 2004, and Deputy Director, Administration and Finance, National Steel Raw Material Exploration Agency, Kaduna from 2004 to 2007. He was a Special Assistant on Economic Matters to the Chairman of Makarfi Local Government, Kaduna State from 2018 to 2021. Hon. Aliyu Ibrahim holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Business Administration.

BARR. MUHAMMAD KABIR UTHMAN
Barr. Muhammad Kabir Uthman, the Secretary, Kaduna State Senior Secondary Schools Education Board, is a legal practitioner and seasoned management professional. He has competences in project management, facility management, and property and real estate management.

He served variously as Assistant Executive Principal Officer, Court of Appeal, Kaduna Division, Principal Executive Officer, Court of Appeal, Kaduna Division, Chief Executive Principal Officer, Court of Appeal, Kaduna Division, and Principal Partner, M.K. Uthman and Co. Barr. Muhammad Kabir Uthman holds the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with specialization in Islamic Law, Barrister at Law (BL), and Diploma in Sharia and Civil Law.

PHOEBE SUKAI YAYI
Phoebe Sukai Yayi, the new Deputy Provost, Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development is a consummate administrator with close to 40 years post-graduation experience in public relations, industrial relations, personnel administration and management. She has skills in human resource management, planning and coordination, disaster management and child protection issues.

Phoebe Sukai Yayi was the pioneer Commissioner and Administrator, Kafanchan Municipal Authority; a position she held from 2021 to 2024. In 2021, she was the Permanent Secretary, Planning and Budget Commission, Kaduna State. She also served as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Kaduna State from 2019 to 2021.

Phoebe Sukai Yayi holds a Master of Disaster Risk Management, a Master of Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, a Postgraduate Diploma in Criminology, a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, and a Diploma in Computer Science. She is a Member, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Member, Institute of Management Consultants (IMC), and Member, Institute of Industrial and Corporate Administrators (IICA).

ENGR. MUHAMMAD SULAIMAN
Dr Muhammad Sulaiman, the Deputy Provost, Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development is an accomplished Engineer, consummate Administrator, and Management Consultant. He served as Sole Administrator, Sabon Gari Local Government, Kaduna State from 2015 to 2016, and Executive Chairman, Sabon Gari Local Government from 2018 to 2024. He also served as a Seniir Legislative Aide to the Deputy Minority Whip, House of Representatives from 2011 to 2012.

A former Roads Design and Maintenance Engineer with Strabag Construction (Nig.) Ltd (2003), he was a Member, Board of Directors, Kaduna State Water Board (2004), Chairman, Technical Tenders Committee, Kaduna State Water Board (2004), and Member, Kaduna State Hospitals Management Committee (2007).

Muhammad Ibrahim Usman holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Civil Engineering, Master of Science (MSC) in Civil Engineering, Masters in Transport and Logistics, Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science. He is a Fellow, Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC), Fellow, Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (FCILT), Fellow, Chartered Institute of Human Capital Development of Nigeria, Member, Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), Member, Nigeria of Engineers (NSE), and Member, Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.

BARR. ABDULLAHI KABIR
Barr. Abdullahi Kabir, the Registrar, Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development is a long standing legal practitioner, administrator, and academic. Before his new appointment, he was the Head, Legal Unit, Office of the Vice Chancellor, Bayero University, Kano. From 2021 to 2024, he was the Principal Assistant Registrar (Legal), Office of the Vice Chancellor, Bayero University, Kano. He was an Assistant Lecturer, Faculty of Law, Bayero University from 2006 to 2007.

A former Head of Chambers, B.N. Sulaiman & Co. (Legal Practitioners), Kano, Barrister Abdullahi Kabir holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B), Barrister at Law (B.L), and Master of Public Policy and Administration.

MALLAM EL-SAID YAKUBU LERE
Yakubu Lere, the new Board Chairman of Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC) is a long standing journalist and image manager. He was the Executive Director (Radio), Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC) from 2014 to 2015. From 1992 to 1994, he served as the Assistant Press Secretary, Government House, Kaduna. He also served as Chief Public Relations Officer, Pilgrims Board, Kaduna State from 1992 to 1994.

Other Media positions he held include: Editor in Chief “Gidauniya” Magazine (2004 – 2007), Editor in Chief Rariya Magazine (2007 – 2011), Chairman/Chief Executive, Lera Films (2012 to date), Project Coordinator, Liberty FM Project (June 2011 – September 2011), and Station Manager, Liberty Radio (2011 – 2012). He established Liberty Radio Kaduna; one of the most popular FM stations in the North.

Yakubu Lere holds an Advanced Diploma in Journalism, a Diploma in Journalism, and Certificates in Speech and Special Writing, and Basic Radio Production.

ZAKARI ALIYU AHMED
Zakari Aliyu, the new Executive Director, Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC) is a top media professional with significant expertise in creating and delivering news content for platforms like television, radio, and the internet. He possesses strong skills in researching, investigating, and presenting news, often demonstrating confidence, excellent communication, and technical proficiency to meet the demands of a fast-paced news environment.

From September 1992 to January 2006, Zakaria Aliyu Ahmed was a Producer, Kaduna State Media Corporation Programmes Unit, Radio Department. He was Head of Press Team, Kaduna State Hajj 2004, 2006, and 2008. He served as Chief Information Officer, Nigerian Institute for Trypanasomiasis, Kaduna from February 2006 to July, 2023. He was NUJ Chairman, KSMC Chapter, Kaduna State from 2000 to 2003. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Combined Honours) in History and Political Science.

HON. GAMBO MATHEW BULUS
Hon. Gambo Mathew Bulus, the new Board Chairman, Kaduna State Agricultural Development Agency (KADA) is a development and policy analyst with extensive experience in management, leadership, and grassroots development.

He served as Executive Chairman, Lere Local Government, Kaduna State (2023 – 2024), Vice Chairman, Lere Local Government, Kaduna State (2021 – 2023), and Instructor, Center for Energy & Environmental Strategy Research, Kaduna State University (2020 – 2021). He holds a Masters in Development and Policy Analysis, and Bachelor of Science in Economics.

MAL. LAWAL USMAN
Mal. Lawal Usman, the new Chairman, Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board (KSSLB) is a sociologist and specialist in crime management. He is currently the Director and Proprietor of Elsa Academy, Zaria. A long standing teacher and researcher, he has written extensively on issues of insecurity and ethno – religious conflicts.

Mal. Lawal Usman holds a Masters in Crime Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology.

HON. SULEIMAN IBRAHIM
Ibrahim Suleiman, the new General Manager, Kaduna State Environmental Protection Agency (KEPA), has extensive experience in environmental management and civil engineering services. Before his appointment, he was the Managing Director, Legend Role International (a consulting firm focusing on environmental management and civil engineering). He holds an Advanced Diploma in Management.

USMAN UMAR
Usman Umar, the Executive Director (Corporate Services), Kaduna Mining Development Company Ltd, is a highly experienced professional a proven track record in strategic management, information management, and internal audit. Before his appointment as Executive Director, he was an Assistant Manager (Internal Audit), Central Bank of Nigeria. From January to December 2021, he was the Management Director/Technical Lead, Raddah Tech. Ltd, Senior Systems Analyst, Kaduna State University (2017 – 2021), and IT Consultant, IBM Global Malaysia (2015 – 2016).

Usman Umar holds a Masters of Business Administration, Postgraduate degree in Information Management, and Bachelor of Science in Business Information Systems.

BARR. ABDULRAUF ATIKU
Abdulrauf Atiku, the Special Adviser (Legal Matters), is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. A results – driven individual with extensive networks, he served with S.O Adalache & Co., Kaduna (2007), High Court of Justice, Kaduna (2007), Yahaya Mahmood & Co. (Arewa Chambers), Kaduna (2008 – 2013), and Moonlight Attorneys, Kaduna (2013 – Date).

MURJANATU SULEIMAN SHIKA
Murjanatu Sulaiman Shika is an academic, political strategist, and accomplished community leader with over 15 years of experience in community development, women’s empowerment, and advocacy. She has skills and competences in project management, research, and evidence-based advocacy.

Before her appointment as Special Adviser, Vocational Training and Skills Development, she was the Executive Director, Women Connect Initiative (WCI), and Lecturer 1 in the Department of English and Literary Studies, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. In 2023, she served as the Director, Research, Strategy and Policy, Kaduna State APC Campaign Council. From 2022 to 2023, she was a Board Member, Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Agency (KASUPDA), and Consultant Programs Director, PACED Initiative from 2015 to 2020.

Murjanatu Suleiman Shika holds a Master of Philosophy in Leadership and Strategic Studies, a Master of Arts in English Language, and Bachelor of Arts, English Language. She has received many awards and recognitions, including: Global Pointers Initiative’s Peak Performance and Productivity Awards 2023, Prestige Magazine’s Woman Politician of the Year 2023, Plusplay Leadership Foundation & Super Girl Conference “SHERO Awards 2021”, Love Expression and Onalo Foundation’s Humanitarian Awards 2020, Centre for the Development of Leadership with Integrity and Purpose “Leadership Recognition Awards 2019”, SOAR Initiative’s Gender Advocate Woman of the Year 2018, and Fellow, Federation of International Gender and Human Rights, 2020.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has taken a swipe at Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State over the arrest and long detention of a postgraduate student of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, IBBUL, Abubakar Isah Mokwa

The student was said to have criticized the performance of Governor Bago on social media.

Atiku, while reacting in a statement on Saturday, said the arrest and detention were an abuse of power, stressing that it is a dangerous sign of Nigeria’s shrinking civic space.

According to him, it was disturbing that the student had been detained for over a week simply for expressing his opinion about Governor Bago.

“It has come to my attention that Abubakar Isah Mokwa, a postgraduate student of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, IBBUL, has been arrested and detained for over a week for merely expressing his opinion about Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State,” Atiku said.
