The wife of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, Unoma, has dismissed claims of sexual harassment against her husband by Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti.
Unoma said Natasha was maligning her husband and “creating content for personal gains”.
Earlier, the lawmaker had accused Akpabio of making sexual advances at her.
Narrating her ordeals, the light skinned lawmaker recalled how the Senate President made sexual advances at her in the presence of her husband.
The Kogi born senator made the allegation on Friday while fielding questions on Arise Television Morning Show programme.
Akpoti-Uduaghan alleged that Akpabio blocked her motions from being heard on the floor of the red chamber because she rejected his advances
However, Unoma while addressing a press conference in Abuja on Friday, dismissed Natasha’s claims.
The wife of the Senate President described her husband as a disciplined and jovial person who is often misinterpreted.

Macron further expressed concerns about the Trump administration’s commercial approach, pointing out that there are some problems and misunderstandings.

Nigerian Army’s 6 Brigade recovers 1,913 weapons in Taraba
The 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army has announced the recovery of no fewer than 1,913 weapons across its operational areas over the past year.
The disclosure was made on Thursday at the Brigade headquarters in Jalingo, the state capital, during the visit of Major General Eyitayo Folusho Oyinlola, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander of Operation Safe Haven.
Brigade Commander Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa, speaking through the Brigade’s spokesperson Captain Oni Olubodunde, provided a breakdown of the recovered arms.
The recoveries, as listed out by him, include 34 AK-47 rifles, five locally fabricated pistols, six pump-action shotguns, one locally made gun, one Browning gun, and a rocket-propelled grenade launcher.
Other seized weapons include five locally fabricated submachine guns, 15 single-barrel guns, one double-barrel gun, one PKMG, a locally fabricated AK-47 rifle, a locally made revolver, and one hand grenade.
“The troops confiscated 970 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 41 rounds of 9mm pistol ammunition, 59 rounds of 7.6mm NATO ammunition, 84 rounds of M16 ammunition, and 84 shotgun cartridges,” he added.
Commending the Brigade’s efforts, Oyinlola praised the troops for their commitments and urged them to intensify operations against criminal elements in the state.
He also reaffirmed the military’s commitment to restoring peace in Taraba and tackling security threats such as banditry, kidnapping, among other vices.
During a briefing with Taraba State governor Agbu Kefas, the GOC acknowledged the government’s support in enhancing security efforts.
He further directed the Brigade Commander to strengthen operations against armed bandits and other criminal activities in the region.
Oyinlola further emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between security agencies and the state government, highlighting the importance of unity in addressing security challenges and ensuring the safety of residents.

The Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, confiscated contraband goods with a Duty Paid Value of N165.3 million in February.
The Area Controller, Joseph Adelaja, made this known on Friday in Ibadan while briefing newsmen on the command’s achievement for February.
Adelaja, who assumed duty on February 7, said the area command intercepted and seized several high-profile smuggling consignments.
He listed the seizures to include 1,043 bags of foreign rice of 50 kg each; 452 pieces of used tyres; two bales of used clothes, and 233 kegs of 25 litres each of petrol.
“The interception and seizure of these prohibited and uncustomed items have prevented the illegal inflow of products that undermine local industries, particularly rice farmers and manufacturers in the region.
“The interception of prohibited foreign parboiled rice has led to the increase in production and consumption of the local rice in Oyo and Osun States respectively,” Adelaja said.
The area controller reiterated the command’s commitment to its core mandates of revenue collection and anti-smuggling operations.
According to him, the command recorded N2,048,487,969 as revenue for February, explaining that the revenue reflected the diligence and efficiency of the command’s officers and men.
He added that the area command has made significant strides in curbing smuggling activities, safeguarding the nation’s economy and protecting local industries from the harmful effects of illicit trade.
