U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham has criticised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for arguing with President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance during an Oval Office meeting on Friday.

Graham branded Zelensky’s behaviour during the meeting as “disrespectful.”

According to him, he is unsure whether the United States could ever do business with Zelensky again.

“What I saw in the Oval Office was disrespectful, and I don’t know if we could ever do business with Zelensky again,” Graham told reporters outside the White House.

He added, “I think most Americans saw a man they would not want to do business with, given the way he handled the meeting,” describing the Ukrainian leader’s approach as “just over the top.”

This comes after Trump cancelled a scheduled joint press conference with Zelensky and ordered him to leave the executive mansion.

The heated Oval Office exchange has left a peace deal on the war between Ukraine and Russia hanging in the balance.

Russia’s foreign ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, said on Friday that the way U.S. President Donald Trump and his Vice President, JD Vance, showed “restraint” by not hitting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was a miracle.

Trump cancelled a planned press conference with Zelensky after a contentious meeting at the White House.

During the meeting, Trump and Vance accused Zelensky of being insufficiently grateful for U.S. support in the war with Russia.

Trump also said Zelensky had “disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office.”

He further insisted that Zelensky “can come back when he is ready for peace.”

Reacting to the development, Zakharova wrote on Telegram: “I think Zelenskyy’s biggest lie of all his lies was his assertion in the White House that the Kyiv regime in 2022 was alone, without support. How Trump and Vance held back from hitting that scumbag is a miracle of restraint.”

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has arrived in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, hours after a Supreme Court victory against Governor Simi Fubara.

The spokesperson for Wike, in a video on Friday, said his principal had arrived in Port Harcourt.

“Nyerisi has landed in Port Harcourt,” he said.

This comes after the Supreme Court on Friday ruled in favour of the immediate past governor of Rivers State, Wike.

The Supreme Court stopped the Central Bank of Nigeria from releasing monthly disbursements to Rivers State until a lawful Appropriation Law is enacted under the Martin Amaewhule speakership.

The apex court also declared the Rivers local government election illegal.
