The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the last election, Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to the death of the party’s woman leader, Prof. Stella Effah-Attoe.
Naija News earlier reported that Effah-Attoe, a member of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC), died on Sunday after a brief illness.
In a statement on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the PDP described Effah-Attoe’s death as a huge blow to the nation.
The party said Effah-Attoe was very brilliant, towering and magnificent in all spheres, but yet lived an exceptionally humble, pleasant, sociable, gracious, compassionate and loving life.
The PDP said Effah-Attoe’s death had left a massive vacuum in the PDP, adding that she touched lives in many positive ways and made pivotal contributions towards the growth and development of our nation.
Reacting to Effah-Attoe’s demise in a post via X, Atiku said he is heartbroken, describing the deceased as a beacon of brilliance which has greatly impacted Cross River State and the nation at large.
Expressing condolence to the family, Atiku wrote, “I am heartbroken over the passing of Prof. Stella Effah-Attoe, the National Woman Leader of our great party, the @OfficialPDPNig. A beacon of brilliance, she greatly impacted not only her state, Cross River but also our nation. My deepest condolences to her family, PDP, and the people of Cross River State. May her gentle soul rest in peace.”
