Bandits divert pickup van, cart away foodstuff in Kaduna community
Bandits hijacked a pickup van and carted away foodstuff, drinks, including bottled water, at Akoti village in Kagarko local government area of Kaduna State.
The incident happened barely 48 hours after another gang of bandits snatched foodstuffs and drinks from a man on a motorcycle.
A source from the area confirmed the incident and explained that the owner of the food items which consisted of bags of rice, jerrycan of vegetable oil, energy drinks, and bottled water was from Jere heading to Akoti village.
According to him, “the bandits suddenly emerged from the forest wielding AK-47 rifles and flagged down the pickup van, deflated some tyres and diverted it into the forest.
He said the bandits, after carting away the food items, released the driver and his conductor.
ASP Hassan Mansur, the spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, is yet to confirm the incident as of the time of filing this report.
