Nigerian govt’s appointment of Permanent Secretaries: 7 candidates progress to final stage
The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation has announced that seven candidates have been shortlisted for the oral interview stage in the ongoing selection process for appointing Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service.
The seven candidates, according to a statement signed Eno Olotu, Director, Information and Public Relations, satisfied the required marks to advance to the third and concluding stage of the exercise.
The statement said that the process underscores the government’s dedication to a transparent and merit-based selection process and ensuring that only the most qualified individuals ascend to these pivotal leadership roles.
The shortlisted candidates are said to have successfully navigated previous stages, including a comprehensive written examination and an Information and Communication Technology, ICT, proficiency test, which evaluated their knowledge, skills, and readiness to lead at the highest levels of public service.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to fairness and excellence in the selection process.
She emphasized that the “invitation of these candidates to the oral interview stage reflects the government’s resolve to appoint leaders of integrity, competence, and vision, capable of steering the Federal Civil Service toward achieving national development goals.”
According to her, the upcoming oral interviews will provide a platform to assess the candidates’ leadership qualities, policy-making acumen, and strategic vision.
She said that the government remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring that the final appointees possess the expertise and professionalism necessary to fulfill the mandate of the Federal Civil Service.
The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation said it anticipates concluding the selection process in a manner that exemplifies fairness, transparency and adherence to the principles of meritocracy.
