Energy Minister-designate John Jinapor denies private jet claims, slams “Fake Propaganda”

Energy Minister-designate, John Jinapor, has dismissed claims that he used a €14,000-per-hour private jet to travel to Nigeria on January 18, 2025, to discuss energy issues.

The allegation, shared on a Facebook page named “NPP Projects Bureau,” in the early housr of Sunday, January 19, claimed, “John Jinapor Flies €14,000 per hour Private Jet to Nigeria on January 18, 2025, to Discuss Energy Issues,” accompanied by a picture of a luxurious private jet interior.

But in a sharp rebuttal on his Facebook page, Mr Jinapor, labeled the post as “fake” and attributed it to “NPP minions and propagandists.”

He condemned the accusations, describing them as baseless attempts to distract from the opposition’s elements after “their abbysmal and embarrassing 38% defeat” in the 2024 elections.

“It looks like these NPP minions and propagandists have not learnt any lessons from their abysmal and embarrassing 38% defeat,” Jinapor wrote.

Jinapor, who is the Member of Parliament (MP) for Yapei-Kusawgu in the Savannah Region, went on to clarify: “For the records, I have not spent one GHS1 of state funds on any trip since my nomination and subsequent vetting.”

Concluding his post, Mr Jinapor added, “With this attitude, they are bound for a 28% mark in 2028, if not less.”
