A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, has dismissed the political influence of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), saying it lacks the power to stop President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from securing a landslide victory in the North come 2027.
Kwankwaso made the statement in Kano on Friday while reacting to criticisms from some ACF members, including former Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung.
The critics had opposed remarks by APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, suggesting that the North should wait until 2031 to reclaim power.
“The ACF has no political value or influence to stop President Bola Tinubu from massively winning the northern votes in 2027,” Kwankwaso said.
According to the APC stalwart, President Tinubu has demonstrated a strong commitment to national development, especially in the North, through key infrastructure projects and policies.
“Ganduje was right to have said that the North should wait till 2031 to start talking about power because President Tinubu is doing well in turning around the country for the good of all Nigerians. He should be allowed to complete his eight-year term in 2031,” he stated.
He highlighted several ongoing projects in the North as proof of Tinubu’s commitment, including the establishment of the Northwest Development Commission and the recently approved ₦150 billion Kano city railway line.
“Today, the entire Northern Nigeria has become a project site with so many ongoing projects being executed with the full support of President Tinubu, and more are coming by the time he wins his second term in 2027,” Kwankwaso added.
Kwankwaso expressed confidence that with these developments, President Tinubu is well-positioned to secure another term in office.
“These and many other strong points clearly show that President Tinubu will convincingly win his second term in 2027, God willing,” he declared.

Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has decried the rate of killings in the southeastern part of Nigeria.
The actor said that an Igbo man claims he’s fighting for Biafra but instead he’s killing his own people.
In a post on his Facebook page on Friday, the Nollywood star maintained there can never be any justification for harming people, whether they agree with your ideology or not.
Edochie opined that it’s only a coward that kills his people to make a point, while a courageous man protects his people at all cost.
