Ambassedor Bankole Adeoye has been re-elected as Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security at the African Union Commission.
Adeboye was said to have defeated Jean Jacques Demafouth of the Central African Republic.
He was re-elected on Tuesday for another four-year term during the 46th Ordinary Session of the Executive council in Addis Ababa.
DAILY POST reports that Adeoye was first elected into the position of AU Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security in February 2021 during the 34th AU Summit.
Under his leadership, the AU Commission, Political Affairs, Peace and Security department has advanced a transformative agenda for peace, security, and good governance across Africa.
