The Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruq Umar-Faruq, has linked the rising insecurity in the country to poor upbringing, among other contributing factors.
He made this assertion on Thursday while receiving the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Aminu Datti, who paid him a courtesy visit at his palace.
Emphasizing the critical role of security in the state and the nation, the Emir called for a united front to address the escalating security challenges. He also urged the Commandant to adopt more effective strategies, demonstrate greater dedication, and enhance collaboration in tackling security threats.
Welcoming Datti to Katsina, the Emir wished him a successful tenure and prayed for divine guidance in his new role.
In his remarks, the NSCDC Commandant noted that he was already familiar with the Emir’s palace but had come formally to introduce himself as the new head of the Corps in the state.
He said the visit was also an opportunity to pay homage, seek advice, and receive royal blessings and support.
Datti highlighted the crucial role of traditional institutions in maintaining law and order, stressing the need to strengthen their partnership for improved security.
He reaffirmed his commitment to repositioning the Corps for greater efficiency and pledged to work closely with the Emirate to fulfill its mandate.
He also assured that the command remains open to guidance and recommendations from the Emir and the traditional council to enhance its service to the people.
