We’re saddened by Kemi Badenoch’s ‘terrible’ rhetoric against Nigeria – Daniel Bwala

Daniel Bwala, one of the spokespersons to the Presidency, has said he is saddened by Kemi Badenoch’s terrible rhetoric against Nigeria.

Badenoch is the leader of the United Kingdom’s Conservative Party.

Bwala said he wished Badenoch would avoid denigrating Nigeria as a weapon to please her far right base.

DAILY POST reported that the conservative leader said she does not not want the consequences of terrible governments like Nigeria to play out in Britain.

Badenoch stated this while delivering her first speech of the year at an event organised by Onward, a British think tank producing research on economic and social issues.

The Nigeria-born UK politician also likened a possibility of the UK becoming like Nigeria if the system is not reformed.

However, in a post on his X handle on Sunday, Bwala said Nigerians are proud of her rise in the politics of the UK but saddened by her terrible rhetorics against the country.

He said: “I truly wish that sister @KemiBadenoch would avoid denigrating Nigeria, the country of her origin as a weapon to please her far right base.

“Rishi Sunak never weaponized the gang rape and other vices in India; the country of his origin just so he would impressed the far right base.

“She is smart, intelligent and we are proud of her rise in the politics of the UK; but we are equally saddened by her terrible rhetoric against Nigeria.”
