Former first lady Naadu Mills visits President Mahama to congratulate him on election victory

The Mahama family on Saturday, January 18, 2025, warmly welcomed former First Lady, Mrs. Ernestina Naadu Mills, into their home. 

Mrs Mills and Lordina Mahama, were seen in a warm mother and daughter embrace.

The visit was to congratulate President John Dramani Mahama on his resounding victory in the December 2024 presidential election.

Mrs. Mills, the widow of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, who passed away in office in July 2012, has largely kept a private life since her husband’s demise.

Her appearance, marks a rare public outing, as she has notably stayed away from public events, including the annual memorial services held in honor of her late husband who was President Mahama’s boss.

Her visit to President Mahama, is viewed as a significant gesture, symbolizing unity and continuity within the legacy of Ghana’s past leaders. 

The meeting underscores her enduring respect for the presidency and her desire to celebrate President Mahama’s return to office.

The Mahama family expressed their gratitude for her visit, which added a heartfelt touch to their post-election celebrations.
