The Hisbah official in the centre of allegations of adultery against a Jigawa State Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwalu Sankara, has denied knowledge of the matter, saying he never issued a statement or spoke to the media about the matter.
The officer, Aliyu Usman, who is in charge of the Yankaba Area Command of Hisbah, who was said to have arrested, Sankara, debunked a voice report making the rounds on social media, alleging that Sankara admitted to having an illicit affair with a married woman, describing the audio as fake.
Usman dispelled the rumours, insisting that at no time did he have a conference with Sankara where he admitted to committing adultery.
He said when the complaint was received from the husband of the woman in question, they began to investigate the matter and even visited the suspect’s house and found the accused woman inside her car while the owner of the house, Auwalu Sankara was walking towards the gate of his house with his gateman ”
He added that as a junior officer, he has no right to talk to any person or reveal details of their operations, noting that only his boss, Malam Mujahid reserves that right, “so I wonder from where the audio clip credited to me came from ”
Speaking on the matter, the lawyer to the Housewife, Rabiu Shuaibu Abdullahi said, his client was the second defendant in the case already presented in court.
Rabiu explained that the court has directed the Inspector General of Police to investigate the matter.
The lawyer said, ”the couple have been having domestic problems for years, to the extent that the complainant, her Husband, was using a gun to terrorize his wife whenever they disagreed.
”My client has a restaurant at Lamido Crescent, the restaurant is popular, people often call her to order food but because of the family crisis the husband has been trailing and tracking her movement with a tracker for unknown reasons.”
The case is currently under investigation at the Kano State CID while the embattled Commissioner, Auwal Sankara has vowed to follow the case to its logical conclusion to clean his reputation and that of his family.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Monday said that the Group of Seven (G7) wealthy countries should be willing to take on more risk with regard to sanctions against Russia over its invasion of Ukraine.
Starmer stated this while speaking via video link to an international meeting held on the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion.
“I’m clear that the G7 should be ready to take on more risk, including on the oil price cap, sanctioning Russia’s oil giants, and going after the banks that are enabling the evasion of sanctions,” he said.
According to him, Britain would announce its largest package of sanctions against Russia since the early days of the war, including more measures against vessels used to help Russia evade sanctions and targeting companies in China and elsewhere who supply military components.
Earlier, Britain said it would ban entry to individuals who provide significant support or owe their wealth to the Russian state.
