The Zamfara State government has assured that it will give its total support to the ongoing battle against banditry in the state especially on the Gusau – Funtua highway.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Mani Mumuni, while speaking to journalists at the Government House in Gusau, said the state, especially the Gusau Funtua axis has become very dangerous due to constant bandits’ attacks.
He pleaded with the military to provide a means of solving the problem, saying that travellers are not comfortable moving along the highway anymore.
“Most of the businessmen go to Kaduna and Nano to purchase their goods but they cannot do it now, because of the fear of being attacked, kidnapped or killed.
In response, the military Commander, AI Ajose assured the state government that every care will be taken to protect travellers along the Gusau-Funtua road.
