The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has lost his special adviser on housing, Tajudeen Egunjobi, to death.
Egunjobi reportedly died on Tuesday after a brief illness. Governor Abiodun, during a condolence visit to the home of the late politician in Oke-Lantoro, Abeokuta, on Wednesday, described his death as a rude shock and highly painful.
According to the government, the late Egunjobi was a hardworking, conscientious, dependable man who was also very diligent in the discharge of his duties to the state.
Abiodun said: “He was a very humble, hardworking, conscientious, dependable, and reliable special adviser to this government.
“He was very loyal; besides being an architect, he was a consummate politician and a former member of the Ogun State House of Assembly.
“I appointed him Special Adviser on Housing because of the plans that we had and still have for the housing sector alongside the Commissioner for Housing, and I must say that Tajudeen was very diligent.”
Governor Abiodun stated that his administration’s success story in the housing sector would be incomplete without noting the late special adviser’s significant contributions.
He emphasised that Egunjobi lived an impactful life and that his administration would give him the credit he deserved in government so that his name could be remembered for his contributions to society.
Speaking earlier, the Commissioner for Housing, Jamiu Omoniyi, characterised the late Egunjobi as a devoted and responsible politician who helped make the state’s housing industry a success adding that the Abeokuta South Local Government had lost a mystery.
Responding on behalf of the family, Noah Tajudeen thanked the state government for their assistance and wished the governor success in his endeavours.
