We’re Not Using BIVAS In Benue LG Election – Commission

Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC) has said the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BIVAS) would not be used in the local government election slated for October 5, 2024.

The chairman of the commission, Richard Tombuwua, who disclosed this at a press briefing in Makurdi, the state capital, said, “The commission is ready to conduct free, fair and credible election in all the 5,102 polling units of the 276 council wards in the 23 LGAs in the state and we have so far received 21 vehicles and other materials needed for the elections.

“Eight political parties have met all the conditions to participate in the election and have all fielded candidates to contest for the forthcoming elections.”

He named the participating political parties to include APGA, AAC, ZLP, LP, APC, NNPC,PDP, SDP.
