Bauchi gov seeks stronger air surveillance for border security
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has urged the Nigerian Air Force to strengthen air surveillance in border communities to enhance security and maintain stability.
He made this appeal during a meeting with the outgoing Air Officer Commanding the Special Operations Command at the Nigerian Air Force Base in Bauchi, Air Vice Marshal Eniobong Effiong.
Governor Mohammed commended Effiong for his contributions to security in the state but stressed that more efforts are needed to tackle crime effectively.
He highlighted the necessity of close cooperation between the Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies to achieve lasting peace.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to security, the governor stated that Bauchi State continues to work closely with security agencies to promote peace and protect residents.
In response, Air Vice Marshal Effiong expressed gratitude for the governor’s support during his tenure in Bauchi.
He assured that the Nigerian Air Force remains dedicated to collaborating with the state government to uphold security and stability.
Effiong has now been reassigned to the Office of the National Security Adviser in Abuja.
