Ogun PDP screens ex-Ijebu East chairman, Wale Adedayo, others for Nov 16 LG elections

Former Ijebu East Local Government Chairman, Wale Adedayo, was among hundreds of aspirants screened on Tuesday under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ogun State chapter, for the positions of councillors and chairmen of the respective local government areas in the state.

DAILY POST had reported that Adedayo was suspended and impeached as the Chairman of the Ijebu East Local Government after accusing Governor Abiodun of diverting allocations intended for 20 local government areas in the state.

The state government also dragged Adedayo to court over false allegations and defamation of character against the governor.

However, the ex-Ijebu East Chairman was among aspirants from the 236 wards and 20 local governments in the state who obtained the party’s nomination forms to contest in the forthcoming November 16 local government elections.

According to a statement released by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Afolabi Orekoya, the party has scheduled Thursday, 5th, and Saturday, September 7, as the respective dates for the councilorship and chairmanship primary elections.

Orekoya advised party members to go out peacefully for the primaries in their respective wards to elect the councillors of their choice.
