United States of America President Donald Trump has played down his criticisms against Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky ahead of the duo’s scheduled meeting at the White House on Friday.
BBC reports that Trump referred to Zelensky as ‘very brave,’ contrary to his claim that the Ukrainian president was a ‘dictator.’.
Trump was speaking after talks with UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer on Thursday about ending the war between Ukraine and Russia.
He envisaged a “very good meeting” with Zelensky on Friday, noting that efforts to achieve peace were between Ukraine and Russia “moving along pretty rapidly.”
Recall that last week, Trump shocked the world when he launched an attack on Zelensky, alleging that he started the war with Russia.
But speaking about his forthcoming talks with Zelensky, Trump said: “I think we’re going to have a very good meeting tomorrow morning. We’re going to get along really well.”
Earlier, Trump hinted that the US has secured a billion-dollar mineral deal with Ukraine.
