Controversy As PDP Camp Suspends Ortom

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by the suspended chairman in Benue State, Sir John Ngbede, has suspended the former governor Samuel Ortom, deputy chairman, Mr Isaac Mffo, and the publicity secretary, Mr Bemgba Iortyom.

A statement signed by the suspended secretary Dr Joseph Nyam said during the Ward Congresses held on the July 27, 2024 at the 276 Ward headquarters, the suspended members led and abated the snatching of election materials at their various local governments resulting in the non-conduct of the congresses in Buruku, Gboko, Ushongo, Guma, Tarka, Kwande and Ohimini local government areas.

According to him, these acts constitute anti-party activities and consequently they are suspended for one month in the first instance and recommended to the State Disciplinary Committee for further adjudication.
