Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has described the death of the member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Musiliu Akinremi, as a great and personal loss to him.
In a condolence message he personally signed, the minister described Akinremi as a brother and friend whose death came as a major surprise and shock that he is still trying to come to terms with.
Meanwhile, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has ordered that flags be flown at half-mast in the state in honour of the departed Akinremi.
Also, members of the House of Representatives have adjourned plenary in honour of Akinremi.
Speaker of the House, Dr Tajudeen Abass, called off proceedings after he was intimated of the sudden demise of the lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The House also shifted proceedings of its committees as a mark of respect for the lawmaker affectionately referred to as Jagaban in the House.
Also in a tribute, the Spokesperson of the House, Akin Rotimi (Jr), described Akinremi as a distinguished and ranking member of the 10th National Assembly who served as Chairman of the House Committee on Science Research Institutions.
He said that until his demise, the Oyo lawmaker was a dedicated public servant known for his unwavering commitment to the development of his constituency and the country at large.
