Speaking at the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Mowe, Ogun State, Managing Director of NIGCOMSAT, Mrs Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, commended MOMAS-EPAIL’s remarkable investment in developing local content in power, defence and other sectors.

She urged other indigenous companies to partner with NIGCOMSAT to move the country forward through an effective server communication network, noting that security remains paramount to the country at the moment.

“Today is very historic because it’s the signing of a partnership between NIGCOMSAT and MOMAS-EPAIL, which is strategic. Most people do not know that MOMAS-EPAIL is involved in manufacturing defence materials for security.

“And NIGCOMSAT is the premier satellite communication company for Nigeria. So, there is value in collaborating in helping our defense sector,” she said.

The NIGCOMSAT boss stressed the need to protect, create value and embrace innovation in the defence sector.

Egerton-Idehen said MOMAS-EPAIL had shown that partnering with local companies could be possible.

Chairman, MOMAS-EPAIL, Kola Balogun, noted that the partnership would build an effective database and improve data collection for national security.

He added that the firm had developed a very strong knowledge-based information that would protect the security network, noting that it had grown remarkably in providing  armoured vehicles and  classical operational materials.

Balogun said building synergy with NIGCOMSAT would improve group communication infrastructure and enhance frontline operations, as the MoU would serve as a tool of exchanging information in security, intelligence and communication with lots of classified information.

“All the vital information has to be embedded in the agreement such that information that is important to the security of Nigeria can be saved and domesticated. This will further enhance our services and effectiveness towards service delivery to the defence sector,” he submitted.
