Euro 2024: England Secures Dramatic Comeback Win Vs Slovakia

England earned a dramatic comeback win against Slovakia to progress into the quarter-finals of the European Championship.

Slovakia were on the verge of a shock win but a Jude Bellingham stoppage time equalizer and Harry Kane’s early extra-time goal sealed a 2-1 win for Gareth Southgate side.

England have now reached the quarter-finals in back-to-back European Championship tournaments.

Ivan Schranz gave Slovakia the lead in the 25th minute as he ran on to a pass from David Strelec before slotting past Jordan Pickford.

Five minutes into the second half Phil Foden thought he had drawn England level following a pass from Kieran Trippier but his effort was ruled out for offside.

But in the 95th minute Bellingham made it 1-1 with a bicycle kick off a flicked header from Marc Guehi from a long throw by Kyle Walker.

Then in the 91st minute of extra-time Kane our England 2-1 up with a header after substitute Ivan Toney headed the ball into his path.

The Three Lions will now take on Switzerland, who beat champions 2-0, in the quarter-finals.
