Millions lost as fire razes Karu market in Abuja

The Karu market in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has been gutted by fire, leaving goods and properties worth millions of naira in ashes and traders in a state of despair.

The fire which was said to have started around 8:pm Thursday evening burned down a large chunk of the market

While the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, media reports indicate that only one fire truck was on the ground to battle the fire at the time of the incident.

The full extent of the damage to Karu market is still being assessed, however, it is clear that the fire has left a significant impact on the community.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and officials are working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the outbreak
