Gunmen, believed to be terrorists, have abducted Hajiya Halima Adamu, mother of the famous Hausa musician, Dauda Adamu, popularly known as Rarara.
Adamu was abducted early hours of Friday morning, around 1am, at her residence in Kahutu village, in Danja Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State.
According to a source from the area, the gunmen kidnapped the woman without firing a single shot and didn’t abduct any other person even though there were other people living in her house.
He said from the way the terrorists operated, they seem to have parked their motorcycles away from the village and trekked to the woman’s residence, ostensibly to keep from alerting security operatives in the area.
He said the woman didn’t resist the terrorists when they came to abduct her, adding that they may have taken her into a dreaded forest in the area.
He added that he would not be surprised if the terrorists call the popular musician or some traditional leader at Kahutu village, asking for millions of naira in ransom.
Meanwhile, the village is said to have become apprehensive following the incident, with sources saying residents were seen Friday morning discussing the incident in groups.
