Seven people were reportedly killed yesterday, while 11 others sustained injuries in a road mishap along the Ogere section of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway
The Guardian learnt that the accident involved a truck with no registration number and a Mazda bus marked, MNY894 YN.It was learnt that the crash was the result of excessive speed by the Mazda bus driver who rammed into the moving truck from the rear.
Public Education Officer of the Ogun State Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Florence Okpe, said the injured victims were taken to PATMAG Hospital in Ogere for medical attention while the remains of the deceased were deposited at the FOS morgue in Ipara.
Similarly, two people were killed in a road crash involving a Blue Peugeot Bus with registration number WRA224XA and an Orange DAF Truck with registration number ANC711XA, along the Kara area of the expressway.
It was gathered that four people were involved in the crash. Road safety officers said the injured victims were taken to the nearest hospital while the corpses of the deceased were handed over to their families.
