The Federal Executive Council has approved the procurement of 33 units Mikano CNG-powered vehicles at the cost of N1.99 billion, to boost the operation of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
FEC approval was disclosed by the Minister of Justice and the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, while briefing newsmen after the Council meeting., which was presided by President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday.
According to the Minister, “Procurement of 33 Mikano motor vehicles CNG powered is to boost the operation of NDLEA”
Fagbemi further disclosed that the Council also approved the procurement of firearms and ammunition to strengthen the counter-narcotic fight, adding that the purchase of the ammunition will cost the sum of $1.442m.
The Minister then confirmed the acquisition of 2 units of body scanners that will be deployed for use in both Abuja and Lagos International Airports at the sum of N985 million.
