Technology-driven Professional Turned Consultant: Toyin Oladayo Olagoke’s Mission to Support MSMEs

In a significant move towards global entrepreneurship, Dr. Toyin Oladayo Olagoke, Managing Partner at Pristine Insights Consulting LLC, is on a mission to empower 500 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across Africa by December 2025. With over 25 years of experience spanning telecoms, fintech, media, and business automation sectors, Olagoke has transformed from a corporate director to a successful management consultant, trainer, and entrepreneur, driven by his passion for business excellence and growth.

Dr. Olagoke’s journey began with his realisation that many MSMEs in Africa were not operating efficiently. “I would give them advice which would help their businesses take a good turn,” he explained in an exclusive interview. This passion for helping businesses inspired him to establish Pristine Insights Consulting, focusing specifically on MSMEs. Leveraging his extensive experience and research into successful North American business practices, Olagoke developed actionable strategies tailored to the African market, aimed at fostering sustainable growth and global competitiveness.

Toyin’s ambitious Project 2025 aims to train MSMEs on essential steps and actions to enhance their operations. “There are so many business integrity challenges within the private sector in Africa,” he noted. “I have decided to empower 500 MSMEs by raising awareness, providing access to resources, and tools, and building their capacity.” This project underscores his commitment to addressing these challenges and helping African businesses thrive.

In a strategic expansion, Pristine Insights Consulting recently debuted in the United States. Announcing this milestone, Dr. Olagoke, a Fellow of the Institute of Information Management, expressed his excitement about the new opportunities this move brings. “This expansion opens up endless possibilities and paves the way for stronger ties between Africa and the USA in the world of business and e-commerce,” he stated. By establishing a presence in the USA, Olagoke aims to bridge the gap between American entrepreneurs seeking to enter the African market and African startups looking to explore opportunities in the USA and Canada.

Olagoke explained the rationale behind this strategic choice, highlighting the USA’s vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem, technological advancements, and innovative startups. “By creating a bridge of collaboration and knowledge exchange, we can unlock immense opportunities and drive sustainable development on both continents,” he explained. The expanded services in the USA provide startups and businesses with access to market knowledge, strategic insights, and a comprehensive understanding of the African business landscape.

Despite the challenges, including overcoming client scepticism towards newer consultants, Olagoke’s resolve remains unwavering. He advocates for building capacity, continuous learning, and finding mentors as keys to success. “You also require passion for the profession because it can be discouraging, however, with passion you will overcome,” he advised aspiring professionals. His greatest accomplishment, he says, is helping hundreds of individuals and MSMEs achieve their goals and being recognized as a Fellow of the Institute of Information Management for his contributions to the field and society.

Reflecting on the organisation’s services, Olagoke highlighted its comprehensive range, including business development, market research, financial advisory, strategic planning, and trade support. With a team of experienced professionals and an extensive network of industry contacts, Pristine Insights Consulting is well-equipped to provide tailored solutions to meet unique business needs.

In his closing remarks, Olagoke expressed gratitude to his clients, partners, and supporters. “We are excited to embark on this new chapter and invite you all to join us on this remarkable journey at the international level,” he concluded.

Dr. Olagoke’s story is a compelling example of how a technology-driven professional can leverage their expertise to drive substantial impact in the world of business consulting, creating a lasting legacy of empowerment and growth for MSMEs across continents.
