Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command have arrested at least six suspects over alleged one-chance robbery in Abuja.

SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, made this known in a statement she issued on Saturday.

According to her, the operation was conducted on June 16, 2024 by operatives of the command attached to Utako divisional headquarters.

The suspects include Abubakar Adams, Ibrahim Kasa, Sani Usman, Ismail Salisu, Yusuf Bello and Nasiru Saidi.

According to the police, the suspects are specialized in attacking unsuspecting residents of the city inside vehicles or tricycles, “robbing them of their valuables and pushing them off the moving vehicle or tricycle”.

Josephine explained that the “suspects were apprehended on the heels of complaints received from multiple victims of these atrocious acts”.

She said some of the victims reported losing their mobile phones, money, gadgets, and other belongings to “these criminal individuals who have since confessed to the crime”.

“Light weapons such as cutlasses, knives, and a phone believed to have been stolen from a victim were recovered from them”, she stated.
