Speaking at the 2025 Lead Your Self National Youth Leadership Conference organized by the David Douglas Leadership Forum (DDLF) at Adisadel College in Cape Coast, renowned online journalist, Kobby Kyei, urged students to refrain from sharing inappropriate content on social media.
He emphasized that such responsible behavior is vital to sanitizing the online space.
“Just as you leave footprints when you walk, be aware that you are leaving a digital footprint of whatever you share on social media, and this could later affect you positively or negatively,” Kyei cautioned.
He encouraged the youth to utilize digital platforms for educational growth rather than focusing solely on entertainment and inappropriate content.
In his welcome address, David Douglas Tengey, Executive Director of DDLF, stressed the critical role young people play in shaping the future of Ghana and the world.
“We invest in the future by equipping you with the skills, values and vision necessary to lead with integrity, courage and purpose,” he said.
Tengey added that the conference theme “Ethical Leadership and Decision Making: Developing Personal Leadership Skills” , reflects the urgent need to build qualities such as self-awareness, resilience, collaboration, critical thinking, and ethical leadership in the next generation.
“These are not just professional skills; they are life skills that determine how you navigate challenges, inspire change, and leave your mark on the world,” he concluded.
The event featured a diverse panel of speakers, including Dr Mike Amofa Dankwa, Professor Pikay Richardson, Dr Kaprece James, and Bridgars Awonor.
In attendance were students and teachers from several institutions, including Ghana National College, Mfantsipim School, Adisadel College, Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School, and St. Augustine’s College
