
Troops of the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with the police, have repelled a bandit attack on Soro Daya village in Kankia Local Government Area of Katsina State.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. on September 19 when suspected bandits invaded the community.
The troops were swiftly mobilised to the area and engaged the attackers in a fierce gun battle at Soro Daya junction.
During the exchange, the bandits damaged the front tyre and side glasses of a police Armoured Personnel Carrier, APC, before retreating into the forest.
One victim, a 15-year-old girl identified as Nabiha Mani, was rescued with a gunshot wound on her thigh. She was initially taken to the Comprehensive Health Centre in Matazu and later referred to the Orthopaedic Hospital, Katsina, for further treatment.
