The Sakumono District Police Command has arrested three men in connection with a shooting incident and unlawful entry at the Celebrity Golf Club area in Sakumono.
The suspects, identified by police as Abubakar Mohammed, 28, Eric Asare, 23, and Felix Darko, 48, were picked up on 18 October 2025 following reports of gunfire and vandalism on the premises of the club.
According to preliminary police investigations, the men allegedly posed as National Security operatives and forcefully gained access to a construction site belonging to one of the executives of the Celebrity Golf Club. They are reported to have discharged firearms on the property, resulting in damage to parts of the site.
Police sources indicate that the attack is believed to be linked to an ongoing land dispute involving factions within the Nungua Traditional Council.
All three suspects are currently in police custody and assisting with further investigations.
In a statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, Supt. Juliana Obeng, the Accra Regional Police Command cautioned individuals and groups involved in land-related conflicts to desist from acts of violence and lawlessness.
The Command further assured the public that anyone found culpable in the Sakumono incident will face prosecution in accordance with the law.
Police say calm has since been restored to the area as investigations continue.
