Activist lawyer, Maduabuchi Idam, has disclosed that President Bola Tinubu has nothing to fear following the threat of military action issued by the United States President, Donald Trump.
Idam said terrorists killing people should be afraid of Trump’s threat and not the Nigerian government.
The US President threatened military action against terrorists killing Christians in some parts of the country.
Reacting to the development, Idam said in a statement: “It’s the terrorists, not the government, who should fear Trump’s threat.
“Thanks to Donald J. Trump for his decisive stance on insecurity in Nigeria. The intervention is long over due.
“We are tired of watching a government that befriends terrorists but unleashes deadly force against unarmed critics.
“If Mr. Trump’s forces can target these murderous elements precisely, without causing collateral harm to innocent civilians, I would encourage the Nigerian government to consider requesting limited operational assistance and to urge him to go after kidnappers as well other than trying to oppose him.
“If insecurity must be crushed in Nigeria, the government in power should see President Trump’s threat as a welcomed development other than expressing panic, unless and of course if the government is still enjoying its honeymoon with terrorists.”
