The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested a suspect, Daniel Cudjoe, alias Ato Asare, in connection with a violent clash between rival groups at Simpa in the Nsuaem District.

Preliminary investigations indicate that a group from Dadwen, led by suspects Alhassan and one Abolo, allegedly vandalised Ato Asare’s mining equipment.

In retaliation, Ato Asare, 25, together with his 23-year-old brother, Emmanuel Cudjoe, and about ten others, confronted the rival group. The confrontation escalated into gunfire, leading to the death of Emmanuel Cudjoe.

According to a police statement, items retrieved from the crime scene included two pump-action guns, three machetes, four motorbikes, one tricycle, and a regalia.

The police say investigations are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects. They further assured the public that all perpetrators will face the full rigour of the law.
