The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has announced a delay in the payment of two categories of allowances for some public sector workers, originally scheduled for this month.
In a press release dated 25 November 2025, the department cited a “technical hitch” encountered during the final payroll run as the reason for the disruption.
The CAGD stated that the processing of these allowances was paused to prevent any further delay in the payment of November 2025 salaries for all government workers.
The release specifically acknowledged colleagues in the education sector, indicating they are among the affected groups.
The department has assured affected workers that the issue is being resolved and that the outstanding allowances will be paid together with December 2025 salaries on 18 December 2025.
The CAGD expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and appreciated the public’s patience.
The notice was signed by Cephas N. Doso, Head of Public Relations, for the Controller and Accountant-General.
