The New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, has refuted claims of instability and disunity within its ranks, labeling such allegations as “erroneous assertions” propagated by detractors.

Following a meeting of the South-South State Chairmen in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, the party reiterated that no crisis exists within its structure.

In a statement jointly signed by the South-South NNPP state chairmen, the party declared that individuals such as Boniface Aniebonam, Agbo Major, and Oginni Olaposi are not recognized members, asserting that they have been suspended and expelled for various offenses.

The signatories to the statement include Elder Inemisit Akpan (Akwa Ibom State Chairman and Chairman of State Chairmen), Joel Tubonimi (Bayelsa State Chairman and Coordinator, South-South Zone Chairmen), Barr. Anthony Ogboriku Odeh (Cross River State Chairman), Fred Ikponmwosa (Edo State Chairman), Godson Green (Rivers State Chairman), and Rex Ogboru (Delta State Chairman).

The statement said, “We categorically affirm that there is no crisis within the party and the aforementioned individuals – Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam, Dr. Agbo Gilbert Major, Mr. Oginni Olaposi, and their associates – are not recognized members of the NNPP.

“These individuals were duly suspended and expelled from the party due to various offenses and therefore lack any standing to claim membership or to represent themselves as officers of NNPP.”

The chairmen emphasized that the party’s organizational structure remains intact under the leadership of Dr. Ajuji Ahmed as National Chairman, Prince Onu Nwaeze as Deputy National Chairman, Mr. Dipo Olayoku as National Secretary, Barr. Ladipo Johnson as National Publicity Secretary, and other members of the National Working Committee, NWC.

The South-South NNPP chairmen expressed gratitude to the 36 state chairmen and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, leadership for their unwavering dedication to the party.

They also reaffirmed their loyalty to NNPP National Leader Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Governor of Kano State Abba Yusuf, Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Jibail Falgore, and NNPP members of the Kano State House of Assembly and National Assembly.

The statement added, “We strongly frown upon the continuous erroneous references to Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, Dr. Agbo Major, and their associates in this context.

“We have clearly outlined our national officers earlier in this press briefing and urge our media partners to be vigilant and accurate in their reportage. It is imperative for the integrity of our party that the correct designation of our officers is maintained.”

The chairmen further clarified the party’s official colors and symbols, stating that they are red and white with an academic cap on a book and the inscription “NNPP” prominently displayed.

Addressing concerns about the Kwankwasiyya Movement, the chairmen described it as an integral part of the NNPP, emphasizing its commitment and loyalty to the party’s principles.

“The Kwankwasiyya Movement is an integral part of our party’s fabric. Their commitment and loyalty to the principles and activities of the NNPP is invaluable.

“Any claims suggesting that the Kwankwasiyya Movement poses a threat to the party or is attempting to take it over are outrightly false and propagate a narrative pushed by detractors of our party.”

The South-South chairmen pledged their loyalty to the NNPP and Senator Kwankwaso, while rejecting the activities of Aniebonam, Major, and their “expelled followers.”

They urged members to remain loyal and focused, dismissing distractions from former members as “mischievous plots” by agents seeking to destabilize the party as seen in opposition parties in the country.

The NNPP reaffirmed its commitment to working toward the betterment of its constituents and the nation as a whole.
