Hot SourceFormer Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has said that if President Bola Tinubu fails to deliver on his promises, Nigeria could face a dire future.
He warned that such failure would make it more difficult for his successor to succeed.
Sani made the remark during an interview with TVC on Tuesday, stressing that Tinubu has a historic opportunity to redefine Nigeria’s trajectory.
According to him, the country is at a turning point that requires bold and visionary leadership.
The public commentator added that Nigeria’s politics has become toxic and divisive because political actors treat their opponents as enemies instead of partners in nation-building.
“If Tinubu fails, it will be difficult for his successor to fix Nigeria. Our politics is so toxic and hostile that those in government see the opposition as enemies, while those outside power see the government as an enemy. When you have such combative politics, the country will continue to go down the drain,” he said.
The former lawmaker decried the country’s culture of endless politicking, noting that it hinders effective governance.
