A leading figure of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ahafo Region, Nana Yaw Donkor Jill, has firmly denied reports suggesting that he has joined the newly formed United Party (UP).
In a statement issued on Wednesday, 22 October 2025, and titled “Denouncing Membership of United Party (UP),” Nana Yaw Donkor Jill described the claims as false and mischievous, urging the public to disregard them.
“I am emphatically stating that I am not a member of the newly formed United Party, and I have no intention to be part of the party. I am a full member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and I remain resolute to the great tradition of the NPP,” he declared.
According to the statement, certain individuals associated with the United Party had circulated social media posts naming him as the first Vice Chairman for the Ahafo Region, a claim he described as a fabrication deserving the highest contempt.
“I entreat each and every individual to treat that fabrication with the highest contempt it deserves. I am a member of the NPP till thy kingdom come,” he stated.
Nana Yaw Donkor Jill, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Dunwark Farm at Mehame Nkwanta in the Ahafo Region, reiterated his unwavering commitment to the NPP, affirming that his allegiance to the party remains unshaken.
The statement underscores growing sensitivity within political circles as new parties emerge ahead of the 2028 general elections, with various figures publicly clarifying their political affiliations.
