Lightwave E-Health Care Solutions Limited has formally initiated arbitration proceedings against the Ministry of Health, following what it describes as varied and inaccurate media reports regarding its operations in Ghana.
In a press statement issued by its solicitors, Lord & Lords Legal Practice, the company confirmed that it has written to the Ministry of Health, and copied all relevant stakeholders, to request the commencement of arbitration proceedings in accordance with the terms of Contract No. MOH/E-HEALTH/PHS 2/2019, signed between the Ministry and Lightwave E-Health.
According to the statement, the company believes arbitration will offer an opportunity for a transparent review of the services it has provided, including a value-for-money evaluation of the contract. Lightwave E-Health expressed confidence that such a process would “unravel all issues and put them in the right perspective.”
The company stressed that its business reputation, both in Ghana and internationally, is of utmost importance, and that it remains committed to excellence in electronic health service delivery.
“As a corporate citizen of Ghana, our client is committed to transparency and accountability in its operations and will take all necessary steps to protect its image and the healthy working relationship it has established with the Ministry of Health,” the firm’s Senior Partner, Eddie Yao Harvey, stated.
The Ministry of Health has yet to publicly respond to the arbitration request.

Owing to various reportage being put out in both Print and Electronic Media here in the Republic of Ghana, Management of Messrs Lightwave E-Health Care Solutions Limited have through their Undersigned Solicitors; formally initiated processes for Arbitration Proceedings to be held with the Ministry of Health acting for and on behalf of the Government of Ghana.
The call for Arbitration Proceedings is in line with the terms and conditions of Contract Number: MOH/E-HEALTH/PHS 2/2019 entered into by the Ministry of Health acting for and on behalf of the Republic of Ghana and Messrs Lightwave E-Health Care Solutions Limited. In line with the mandate vested in us as Solicitors, we have taken steps to officially write to the Ministry of Health (Ghana) in copy all stakeholders requesting for the aforesaid Arbitration Proceedings.
It is our firm belief that the Arbitration Proceedings being requested for, will enable all Parties transparently scrutinize services provided by our client including an assessment of value for money audit which will help unravel all issues and put them in the right perspective.
