Businessman and philanthropist Ibrahim Mahama, on Saturday, 22 November 2025, paid a brief working visit to Tamale Senior High School (TAMASCO) to inspect ongoing infrastructure projects he is fully financing.
Mr Mahama, an alumnus of the school, made the stop after attending a funeral in Salaga in the Northern Region.
The flagship project, revived in 2022, features a 1,600-bed dormitory which is now 90 per cent complete.
During the visit, he toured the site, interacted with students and staff, and expressed satisfaction with the pace of work.
“We’re almost there… this project will be completed on schedule, and I will continue to give TAMASCO the support it needs,” he assured students and school authorities.
He also encouraged students to remain committed to their studies, telling them: “Focus on your education because the future is yours, and we will continue to give you the support you need.”
Mr Mahama further pledged to upgrade the school’s lighting system to enhance teaching, learning and safety across the campus.
“We will ensure that the school has proper lighting so students can study comfortably and move safely around the campus,” he said.
In addition to the infrastructure support, bags of rice and other essential supplies were delivered to the school on Monday, 24 November 2025, to assist the student body.
The school prefect, Abdul Rahman Baba, speaking on behalf of the students, expressed appreciation for Mr Mahama’s continued support.
“We are very thankful to Mr Ibrahim Mahama for always supporting us and helping improve our school. We are truly grateful to him,” he said.
