.Fifth inaugural lecture of Prof. Akpan to hold on June 27

The Office of the Vice Chancellor of Akwa Ibom State University  (AKSU) has announced the Fifth Inaugural Lecture of Prof. Otoabasi Etim Akpan.

This would be held on Thursday, June 27, at the new TETFund auditorium, main campus, Ikot Akpaden, Mkpat Enin Local Council of Akwa Ibom State at 2.00 p.m.
The theme is ‘Thinking the thinkable for gatekeepers at gateways: Integrated security doctrine and emerging threats in Nigeria.’

The lecture is an occasion and an opportunity for a professor to share his/her achievements in research engagement, community service and teaching activities before an audience of members of the university community and the general public.

It is trite to note that not all lecturers rise to the enviable glass ceiling of full professorship, and not all full professors have the opportunity to present an inaugural lecture.

However, Prof. Otoabasi Akpan rose to the rank of full professor several years ago, and is the fifth professor to mount the revered and coveted rostrum of Akwa Ibom State University to present to the university community, the Nigerian society and the hybrid comity of nations, the professing of his professorship.
