End Wike’s tyrannical cravings – Fredfish urges PDP

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Akwa Ibom State, Tom Fredfish has slammed Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike over his utterances.

Fredfish, who was reacting to Wike’s boast last weekend during the PDP state congress in Rivers State, described the former governor’s utterances as “vexatious.”

He noted that it was high time the PDP tamed Wike or expelled him before he totally destroyed the party.

In an exclusive interview with DAILY POST, Fredfish also called on president Bola Tinubu, whose government Wike is serving, to caution him against stoking violence in Rivers and threatening to unleash mayhem to state governors supporting Fubara.

According to him, “Wike is now a loose cannon that must be tamed by the PDP.

“It’s sad that an APC appointee who worked against the success of the PDP in the 2023 general election will dish out such egocentric and superman threats to PDP state governors when we convincingly know that he does not possess such powers.

“Wike should know that not all State governors are like former Gov Ben Ayade who he frustrated out of Cross River State PDP. His influence has finished and waned down.

“I am wondering where he got such temerity from, like he owns the PDP.

“Can wike influence anybody in Akwa Ibom State against Governor Umo Eno, who will listen to him?

“The PDP should put their house in order and speak boldly against his tyrannical cravings.

“The party should stop acting like its name is Wike-PDP PLC, and halt this madness before it destroys the party.

“The former governor has committed countless anti-party offenses and should be shown out of the party.

“More so president Tinubu should call him to order as his speeches are unbecoming of a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and a threat to civility and his administration.”

Fredfish added that Wike lacked the capacity to make real his threats going by his antecedents.

“Wike has become a clown in Nigeria’s political scene wherein he says one thing and does another thing.

“Let me state clearly that Wike is at the mercy of his governor who has threatened to probe his administration and if you could recall that when that threat was dished out by Fubara, Wike kept quiet.

“I’m very sure that PDP governors are not fools, they will tame him (Wike) at the appropriate time. Wike should not be taken seriously, he has lost credibility, because he will say one thing and do another,” he observed.

DAILY POST recalls that the Chairman of PDP Governors Forum and Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, had after a meeting in Taraba State on August 23, 2024, read a communique which announced the Forum’s support for Govenor Siminalayi Fubara.

Irked by the PDP governors’ resolution, Wike in a viral video, threatened to “put fire” in the states of the PDP governors supporting Fubara.

Wike who was seen addressing some supporters at the party’s congress in Rivers State said, “Let me assure all of you, not while we live will anybody take away the structure of PDP from us.

“But let me tell people, I hear some governors, who say they will take over the structure and give it back to somebody.

“I pity those governors because I will put fire in their states. When God has given you peace, you say you don’t want peace – anything you see you take.

“Because I heard they got some money from a signature bonus, and so their heads are getting big that you will put a hand in my own state. Prepare because I have the capacity to also do the same thing in your own state.

“Whether you are from Bauchi, I don’t give a damn, whichever state you are from, as far as I know, that you are trying to put yourself in Rivers State, your hand will get burnt, and you will never sleep in your state.”
