Delta Air Lines will restart nonstop flights between its Atlanta hub and Accra’s Kotoka International Airport from 1 December 2025, reviving a route last operated in 2012.
The carrier will operate a daily seasonal service on the route until late March 2026, using its modern Airbus A330-900neo aircraft.
The flight will offer four classes of service: Delta One Suites, Premium Select, Comfort Plus, and Main Cabin. All seats will feature high-speed Wi-Fi and seatback entertainment.
With this addition, Delta will now serve Accra from two US gateways: a year-round daily service from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and the new seasonal winter service from Atlanta.
The airline says the route responds to strong demand from the Ghanaian diaspora, business travellers, and tourists. The schedule is timed to facilitate easy connections across Delta’s extensive US domestic network.
Delta first began flights to Ghana in 2006 and has carried more than 1.5 million customers between the US and Accra. The return of the Atlanta link is part of Delta’s broader expansion in Africa, which includes new services to Marrakech and additional capacity in West Africa, supported by the fuel-efficient A330-900neo.
For travellers in the southeastern United States and beyond, the route restores a direct link from the world’s busiest airport to a key West African gateway.
