The Bank of Ghana (BoG) is hosting a two-day High-Level Pan-African Central Bank Governors’ Conference in Accra from 10 to 11 November 2025, in partnership with the Bank of England and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
Themed “Central Bank Governance: Leadership, Credibility, and Resilience in African Central Banking,” the conference aims to provide a platform for African central bank leaders to reflect on governance practices and share strategies for strengthening credibility and institutional independence amid global economic challenges.
Since 2018, the Bank of England’s Technical Cooperation Programme has partnered with 21 African central banks to enhance macroeconomic modelling, financial stability frameworks, and climate-risk supervision.
The two-day event will adopt a peer-learning format that encourages frank, off-the-record exchanges rather than formal presentations.
Participation will be limited to invited Governors, Deputy Governors, and senior officials from international financial institutions including the IMF, AFI, and FCDO.
A communiqué highlighting key discussions and outcomes will be released after the conference.
