A set of flats located at Umuichi Nkata Ibeku in Umuahia North LGA of Abia State was destroyed by an inferno on Wednesday afternoon. The flats, which were occupied by many tenants, were gutted by the fire, which is suspected to have been caused by a power surge. Court sentences armed robber to death by hanging

The Kano State High Court, presided over by Justice Nasir Saminu, has sentenced a man to death by hanging for armed robbery, on Wednesday 7th January.
