In recognition of his contributions and leadership, the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Stanel Group and The Delborough Lagos, Dr Stanley Uzochukwu has made the list of African leaders to attend the inauguration of U.S president-elect, Donald J. Trump in Washington.
This follows an invitation letter addressed to the young Nigerian business leader dated January 13th, 2025 signed by the Chairman, Multicultural Coalition U.S. President Inaugural Ball Committee, Dr, J. Mark Burns.
It reads in part, “On behalf of The Multicultural Coalition U.S. Presidential Inauguration Ball host Committee honoring President Elect Donald J. Trump, it is my distinct honor and privilege to extend to you an invitation to our Inaugural Ball celebrating the commencement of the U.S. Presidential Inauguration.
“This prestigious event will be held on January 20th, 2025 at the Washington Times Building Arbor Ballroom, located at 3600 New York Ave, NE, Washington, DC 20002.

Ekiti livestock project kicks off cluster formation across LGAs
The Ekiti State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support, L-PRES project has commenced its cluster formation exercise across the 16 local government areas of the state.
The initiative aims to enhance livestock productivity and resilience among farmers in the state.
Speaking at the event in Ikere Ekiti, the Value Chain Officer for L-PRES, Mrs Adenike Omoleye, emphasised the importance of cluster formation in improving the livelihoods of livestock farmers. She added that farmers can share knowledge, resources, and best practices, which would lead to increased productivity and profitability if they operate in clusters.
Omoleye analysed market trends, demand, and prices to identify opportunities for livestock farmers, identify gaps in the livestock value chain, and develop strategies to address them, including developing market linkages that would connect farmers to markets, processors, and other stakeholders in the value chain.
She stressed that profiling should be done in farm locations to encourage livestock farmers.
According to her, existing groups and cooperative societies will be merged into clusters across value chains such as poultry, sheep/goat, pig, and beef, noting that L-PRES will not engage individuals but groups that form clusters.
Earlier, in her remarks, the Extension Officer for L-PRES, Mrs Olubunmi Ajayi, also highlighted the project’s commitment to providing technical support to farmers.
“Our team of experts will work closely with farmers to identify their needs and provide solutions to improve their livestock production,” Ajayi said.
She said that bringing farmers together to discuss their common interests, goals, and challenges would help identify livestock farmers who can benefit from cluster formation and conduct surveys to understand their needs, constraints, and opportunities.
In his contribution, the Animal Husbandry Officer for L-PRES, Mr Muyiwa Adelodun, stressed the need for sustainable livestock production practices.
“As we support farmers to improve their productivity, we must also ensure that they adopt environmentally friendly practices to safeguard the future of our livestock industry,” he said.
The cluster formation exercise is expected to cover all 16 local government areas of Ekiti State, with the South Central District being the first to benefit from the initiative.
The L-PRES project is a six-year initiative aimed at improving livestock productivity, resilience, and commercialisation in the state.

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company has explained that the power outage being experienced in parts of the Federal Government Territory is due to faulty 132-kilovolt lines 182 from the Katampe to AT5 Central Area Transmission Station.
The Disco disclosed this in a statement on Friday through its official X account.
AEDC said areas affected are Federal Secretariat, Wuse Zone 1-7, Central Mosque, Energy Commission, Transcorp Hotel, Eagle Square, Yar’adua Centre, the entire Central Area, TCN HQ, CAC HỌ, NYSC HO, INEC, the entire Maitama, Kado Estate, parts of Jabi District, Area 7, 8 & 10 Garki, and its environs.
Although the Disco did not state exactly when the power supply will be restored to affected areas, it said the Transmission Company of Nigeria is investigating the cause and fixing the blackout.
“This is to inform residents around Federal Secretariat, Wuse Zone 1-7, Central Mosque, Energy Commission, Transcorp Hotel, Eagle Square, Yar’adua Centre, the entire Central Area, TCN HQ, CAC HỌ, NYSC HO, INEC, the entire Maitama, Kado Estate, parts of Jabi District, Area 7, 8 & 10 Garki, and its environs that the power outage being experienced is due to a fault on the 132kV lines 182 from Katampe to AT5 Central Area Transmission Station.
“The TCN team is currently investigating the cause of the outage and will ensure that power supply is restored as quickly as possible, “the statement reads.
DAILY POST reports that outside the areas listed by the Disco, parts of Dawaki and Dutse Zone 7 have been in darkness for over a day.
Recall that AEDC announced a two-week power disruption in parts of Abuja, Nasarawa State, over the relocation of TCN, the 33KV DC Airport Feeder, and 132KV Kukwaba-Apo Transmission Line Towers.

A total of N64.88 billion has been proposed by the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, FERMA, for the 2025 budget appropriation for the maintenance of Nigeria’s road sector.
FERMA’s Director of Information and Public Relations Maryam M. Sanusi in a statement explained that the Minister of State for Works, Muhammad Bello Goronyo, who is the supervising minister of the agency, revealed this at the opening presentation of the budget defence before the joint session of the Senate and House Committees on FERMA. The estimates comprise N4.9 billion for personnel costs, N33.468 billion for overhead costs, and N26.487 billion for capital costs.
The budget prioritises major Trunk A roads within the six geopolitical zones, aligning with the President’s development and economic recovery objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The proposed amount is less than the N77 billion proposed for the year 2024.
The minister assured that FERMA is committed to ensuring transparency and accountability, using data-driven decision-making and regular community engagement in road maintenance planning.
He explained that, in collaboration with the committees and key stakeholders, efforts to reduce the burden on the federal government’s maintenance of road assets nationwide are being explored.
According to him, “FERMA is in the process of developing, modifying, and redefining key policies, which will generate resources for the agency to proactively maintain our roads for ease of movement.”
Managing Director of FERMA Emeka Agbasi, in his presentation before the committees, explained that adequate funding is needed to enable the agency to increase its activities in preventive maintenance and other interventions on federal roads across the country.
He stressed that the agency faces enormous challenges due to low budgetary allocation. He noted that inadequate releases of funds for the 2024 budget have negatively affected the agency’s ability to maintain the roads.
The chairman of the Senate Committee on FERMA, Senator Hussaini Babangida, on his part, frowned upon the practice of continuously constructing new roads without adequate measures to maintain existing ones.
He noted that the allocation for road maintenance is highly inadequate due to the poor conditions of the roads.

Reacting to the inability to log onto the sites, Apeh said such recruitment sites did not emanate from the commission as there are no intention to recruit teachers for now.

The Abuja Division of the Appeal Court had nullified the order of the Federal High Court in Kano.
The Kano Federal High Court had nullified Sanusi’s appointment following an emirate tussle in Kano State.
The order nullifying Sanusi’s appointment was issued by Justice Abubakar Liman of the Kano Division of the Federal High Court on June 20, 2024.
However, the Appeal Court had dismissed the ruling of the Federal High Court.
In 2024, the Kano State government deposed Ado Bayero while reinstating Sanusi as Emir.
The action was taken after the Kano State House of Assembly repealed the Kano Emirate Law of 2019, which had created five emirates.
