Hot SourceThe Ghana Prisons Service has rubbished reports circulating on social media about Madam Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Agradaa, who is serving her sentence at the Nsawam Female Prison.
In a statement issued on Saturday, 30 August 2025, the Prisons Service said it had taken note of “viral misinformation” being spread by social media accounts, including one operating under the handle Mystery me on Facebook and Team Empress Gifty on TikTok.
According to the Service, the handlers of these accounts are deliberately pushing fake content to grow their online following. “The handler of these accounts is using this fake content as a bait to multiply her followers thereby misleading her followers and social media users with the caption ‘Breaking news from Nsawam’,” the statement noted.
The Prisons Service stressed that all such stories on Agradaa currently circulating online are false and should be treated as fake.
“The Prisons Service states emphatically that all news on Agradaa circulating on social media are false and should be considered fake,” it emphasised.
The Service further assured the public of its commitment to ensuring safe custody, reformation and rehabilitation of inmates to make them law-abiding citizens.
The statement was signed by Janet Asabea, Deputy Director of Prisons and Director of Public Affairs.
