Trump’s military threat: Tinubu to announce new ambassadors

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may announce the country’s new ambassadors as early as next week amid a deepening diplomatic row with the United States of America over alleged Christian killings in Nigeria.
This is according to Arise Television on Tuesday.

President Tinubu has instructed the country’s security services to conclude the vetting of possible ambassadorial nominees.

“President Tinubu will announce new ambassadors, and this may be as early as next week, as security services have been directed to conclude vetting immediately,” Arise TV stated.

This comes amid US President Donald Trump’s threat of military action if the Nigerian government fails to address the alleged Christian killings.

Recall that in April this year, a report emerged that former federal lawmaker Senator Shehu Sani, ex-presidential aide Reno Omokri, and former governors of Abia and Enugu States, Okezie Ikpeazu and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, among others, are part of the new ambassadorial list.

In an update, the Federal Government clarified that the list of ambassadorial nominees is ready.
