As part of its annual events, Stanel World Suleja has identified with Muslim community in Suleja, Niger State with the distribution of over 10,000 loaves of bread to break Ramadan fast with at the weekend.

The household brand in Nigeria States, Stanel World, is a subsidiary of Stanel Group of companies that has replicated its brands across the country.

The week-long distribution of one of the best bread in Nigeria through selected Mosques to Muslim fateful in Suleja ended on Saturday at the Emir of Suleja’s Palace.

In his remarks, the Chief Imam of Kaduna Road Central Mosque, Bakin Iku in Suleja, Mallam Jubril Shuaibu who spoke through the Secretary, Central Mosque Committee, Mallam Bala Muhammad, also excitedly expressed appreciation and gratitude to Dr Stanley Uzochukwu and his team for the remarkable gesture.

He prayed that Allah in His infinite mercy will reward the company and its owner, wishing that Ramadan blessings will not elude the philanthropist as he fed the Muslims within the 10 days to the end of the Ramadan.

Similarly, the Chief Imam of Masjid Mainasara Unguwa Shagayya Mosque, Suleiman Umar Faruk, who received the bread loaded in a Toyota Sienna also expressed satisfaction and joy for a non-muslim Nigerian to constantly identify and feed Muslim fateful during Ramadan every year.

Mallam Faruk prayed that Allah would bless the Stanel World owner and his team for the gesture. He called on other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the Stanel World Chairman/CEO’s philanthropy.

Suspended senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has alleged that the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio and former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, plotted to kill her.

The embattled lawmaker made the allegations while addressing her supporters, who gave her a rousing welcome during her homecoming on Tuesday.

She said although the plot was not made public, the Nigeria Police Force has since been notified.

According to her, Akpabio initiated her recall process after allegedly promising the former governor funds.

She said, “On the 13th of March at 10:00 pm, mind you, two days before that, Akpabio had called Governor Ododo on the phone to commence my recall but Ododo told him it would be impossible.

“Ododo told Akpabio that the recall will be impossible because the masses are with me. But Akpabio was not satisfied so he called Yahaya Bello. I was informed of everything.

“The meeting was on two folds – they told him to commence my recall and that he was going to fund it.

“The second thing he said was that he should try and kill me. I didn’t make this public, but I have written to the IG of Police.

“Akpabio told Yahaya Bello that he should make sure that killing me does not happen in Abuja, that it should happen here so that it will look as if it was the people that killed me here.”

An anti-corruption advocacy group, the Young Guardians of Accountability (YGA), has petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) to investigate the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Abubakar Badaru, over allegations of abuse of office and conflict of interest.

In a petition signed by its chairman, Adediran Raymond, YGA accused the minister of violating federal laws that prohibit public officials from engaging in private business activities.

The group alleged that Mr. Badaru maintains directorships in multiple private companies despite his ministerial position, listing firms such as Talamiz Nigeria Limited, Talamiz Petroleum Nig. Ltd, and Gulfstream Logistics Limited.

“Shockingly, Mr. Abubakar continues to file annual returns for these companies, with records as recent as last year.

“Most egregiously, he operates a licensed Bureau de Change (BDC) while holding a federal ministerial position, flagrantly disregarding the laws designed to prevent conflicts of interest and corruption,” the petition stated.

YGA further demanded an inquiry into whether the minister fully disclosed his business interests in his official asset declaration, arguing that his continued involvement in these companies represents a “brazen disregard for the rule of law.”

The group called for immediate action, including the suspension of the minister and possible prosecution if found guilty.

“The Ministry of Defence, a cornerstone of Nigeria’s security, cannot be entrusted to an individual whose actions suggest an intention to exploit state resources for personal gain,” the petition reads.

As of press time, neither the minister nor his representatives had responded to the allegations. The EFCC and ICPC have also not issued any official statements regarding the petition

The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, proceeded with the annual Hawan Nasarawa ceremony on the third day of Shawwal, despite a ban on Eid-el-Fitr durbar activities imposed by the Kano State Police Command due to security concerns.

Traditionally, the event features the Emir and his entourage in a grand horseback procession to the Government House to pay homage to the governor.

However, in response to the ban announced by Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Bakori, Emir Sanusi II modified the procession, leading it in a motorcade instead of on horseback.

The Emir and his entourage departed the palace and made their way to the Government House, where Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf received him, preserving the long-standing tradition.

This year’s procession also followed a different route from the usual path.

Despite the changes, the Emir’s convoy was greeted by enthusiastic supporters along the way, maintaining the celebratory spirit of the occasion.
