Northern Groups Back Bauchi Governor On Concerns Over Tax Bills

The Coalition of Northern Groups has declared support for Bauchi State Bala Mohammed in his concerns over the Tax Reform Bills which are before the National Assembly as proposed by the presidency.

Leader of the groups, Comrade Aliyu Charanchi Governor Mohammed’s remarks over some of the provisions of the bills reflected the sentiments of northerners, who have been disproportionately affected by the administration’s economic policies.

He explained that the governor’s statements were made in good faith within a democratic context, addressing the legitimate concerns of his constituents.

While condemning the presidency’s threats against Governor Mohammed, describing them as unfair and dismissive, Comrade Charanchi urged President Bola Tinubu to focus on resolving the country’s economic and security challenges rather than resorting to personal attacks.

However, Governor Mohammed, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the support, reiterating his commitment to advocating for the welfare of his people.

Mohammed assured that his administration would continue working to address the challenges facing Bauchi State and the Northern region.
